Town Meeting Day & Ballots

Town Meeting Day will be Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

Due to the pandemic, the legislature passed a bill which eliminates the need for petitions to be filed in 2021 and instead, candidates must only submit their consent form to the clerk’s office prior to 5:00 on January 25th.  Although City Hall is closed, we are accepting consent forms by mail, left in our drop box outside the main door to city hall or emailed to  All forms must be received by 5:00 on January 25th.  The consent form can be found by clicking   local-candidate-consent-pdf.pdf (

The following town and School Offices on the ballot:

City Council -    2 year term

City Council -    3 year term

City Clerk -        3 year term

School Board -  2 year term

School Board -  3 year term

Early or absentee ballots .  Pursuant to the temporary authority granted in Act 48 (2021) that allows every municipality the authority to send every active registered voter their early ballot in the mail, both the City Council and the School Board chose this option for the safety of our voters.  The cost of mailing these early ballots in covered by the Federal CARES Act fund.    

If your address has changed or if you wish your ballot to be mailed to another address, please update your information as soon as possible.  The deadline for getting this information to the printer is Sunday, January 24th

There are 3 ways to update your information for this election:

  • Go to and enter the information.
  • Send an email to and give your name(s), address you are registered at, and the address that you would like the ballots mailed to.
  • Call the office at 846-4105 if you can’t do step 1 or 2.

The ballot you receive in the mail will be your official ballot, do not destroy it and if you wish to vote at the polls, please bring this ballot with you.
