Life Amplified

Benches on the Avenue

Tinley Park's Benches on the Avenue public art program has become one of the Village's most popular attractions, drawing thousands of residents and visitors annually to Downtown Tinley. The colorful benches feature the work of both amateur and professional artists and provide spots to rest and enjoy the fantastic creations while strolling through town.

Artwork is based on a different theme each year, and benches are on display from mid-May through October in Downtown Tinley. Each bench is sponsored by a local business or individual, who takes possession of it after the program has ended.
2022 Benches on the Avenue: Animal Adventure

The 2022 Benches on the Avenue theme will be an “Animal Adventure” showcasing animals of every kind! The Village is looking for artists to create unique, kid- and family-friendly, imaginative and three-dimensional designs that will take visitors on an animal exhibit without ever leaving Oak Park Avenue! Portrayals should be vibrant, colorful and include some degree of three-dimensional art.

Anyone with an imagination and a bit of artistic creativity can be part of Benches on the Avenue.  All you have to do is fill out the application form and submit it with your designs for review. The deadline for design submission is January 28, 2022. For more information, please contact Joanne Carroll at 708-444-5031 or

Sponsorship Opportunities
The program also is the perfect opportunity to market your business or organization to tens of thousands of residents and visitors throughout the summer season. The sponsorship is $749, which includes a plaque on your bench that recognizes your company as a sponsor. Your business also will be included in the widely distributed Benches on the Avenue brochure and featured on the Village website and Facebook page. Sponsors take possession of the bench at the end of the season. For more information, see the sponsorship opportunity application or contact Joanne Carroll at (708) 444-5031 or
