2022 Dog and Cat Licenses:
The deadline is April 1st to register your dog or cat before late fees are applied for any dog or cat residing in the City.
Per state law - all dogs and cats 6 months or older are to be licensed every year.
Please bring in your most recent rabies certificate - signed by the veterinarian.
Registrations may be done by: 
- Visiting the clerk's office Monday - Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 180 Market St
- Use the mail-in-form Make checks payable to the City of South Burlington
- By credit card or debit card. For a renewal of last years license please use this link :https://pay.xpress-pay.com/?pk=5515 For new dogs and cats to the city please use this link: https://pay.xpress-pay.com/?pk=3371.
- Please be aware that there is a processing charge of 2.8% plus a site fee visit. A $25.00 registration fee paid by credit card will cost $26.45 of which $25.00 goes to the city for your registration and $1.45 goes to the credit card processing company. If you are renewing your current registration please use the Animal License renewal option or if you are registering a new pet to the city select Dog/Cat - new from the drop down list. We cannot accept electronic checks at this time for animal licenses and it is more expensive than using your debit or credit card. We will mail the tag to you once the registration is processed by our office.
- When paying by mail or on-line with a card, we will mail the tag(s) and registration forms to you as soon as they are completed (with current rabies certificate) return to top of page
Please pay the appropriate fee per the chart below to expedite your pet's registration.
If your dog or cat is new to the city (here less than 1 month), please pay the fee in the first column.
If you have been in South Burlington longer than 1 month and did not register your dog or cat, please pay the fee under the column for the date that you are registering them on.

*These fees do include late fees and fines for all dogs and cats registered after April 1.

How do I inform the clerk's office of a change in my pets information?
If you wish to inform the clerk's office of a change for your dog or cat such as a new address in South Burlington, now spayed or neutered, if you've moved from the City, or if you no longer have the dog or cat, or something else please e-mail Donna Kinville and report the change.

Top Dog and First Feline Contest
The lucky winners of our 9th annual top Dog and First Feline Contest were drawn in April 2022:

Look for more information each year on the annual contest. There are no entry fees or tickets to buy to enter the contest. Simply register your dog(s) and cat(s) by the deadline of April 1st and they are entered into the contest. The lucky tag numbers will be drawn at the first meeting in April each year by the City Council.
For 2022 the prize package was:
